No. If you're on Pay As You Go, your readings are sent to us each time you top up.

The amount of the standing charge you pay will depend on where you live and what energy tariff and supplier you have. But with E's smart prepayment meter, you don't have to pay any standing charge if you aren't using your gas and electricity energy supply.

Most prepayment meters have a display that shows your remaining credit balance. You can also check your balance by referring to your energy supplier's app or online account, if applicable.

E offers 'emergency credit' or 'friendly hours' that prevents you from being cut off during certain times or days of the week when the shops are closed and you're unable to top up.
